THE BASICS STEP BY STEP….

Scrubbed

  • Select potatoes that are about the same size and scrub them clean
  • Prick a few holes in the potatoes to prevent them from bursting open
  • Place the potatoes alongside one another on a paper towel in a microwave-safe dish, without covering them
  • How long it will take before the potatoes are done depends upon the size of the potato and the type of potato. On average, preparing 500 grams of potatoes will take about 7 minutes at a setting of 1000 Watt
  • Once cooked, you can season the potatoes to taste with nutmeg, pepper and/or salt.

  • Place the potatoes next to each other as much as possible
  • Pour two to three tablespoons of water over the potatoes and cover the bowl using, for example, microwave foil

Whether you opt for a creamy (or mealy) potato, or a waxy potato is simply a matter of taste. Creamy potatoes, such as Eigenheimer, Frieslanders and Doré, have a less compact structure and will fall apart more easily when boiling. The outer layer of these potatoes cooks more quickly than the inside. Would you prefer the potatoes hold their shape as they boil, then opt for firm texture, waxy potatoes, such as Nicola, Bildtstar, Charlotte and Roseval

Tip! Portion size

We recommend a portion size of approx. 200 grams per person.
